Syttende Mai

Well, Well, Well........ I do know I am not 21 anymore. This past weekend was the kick off of the town functions. It was Syttende Mai. Oh My!! It is always a good time, but this year it was an extra good time for me. It all started on Thursday night when we took Landon down the carnival for some rides since Luke and I would not be able to take him on Friday night. Boy oh Boy did he love the rides, the foot long, the mini doughnuts and the rides!! The think that I have now come to realize why my parents thought the carnival was a joke!! They are expensive and a rip off!!!!! You can blow 20 bucks and not even know it or have anything to show for it. Rides are not only 1 ticket by 2 or 3!!!! CRAZY!

Friday night Luke and I took Mom and Dad's car and went on the Mystery Car Cruise. It was fun, but I have to say that I had a few beers with my brother before hand and I didn't eat a lot so that is where the fun started!! Chad and Melissa were nice enough to take Landon for a few hours, which basically turned into the whole evening/night. It was fun. However, I ended up locking the keys to by Dad's Super bee in the trunk of the car. (And he has no spare set). It was all for another beer!!!!! I was sick to my stomach! So needless to say 2 hours later Dad had the back seat of the car removed and I had to wedge myself in the trunk of the car to get the keys. I will say that I have a bruise the size of a baseball, but I was able to reach the keys. We can sort of chuckle about it now, but it was not funny at the time.

So, today is Monday and I am still trying to recover from my outings 2 nights in a row. I am just not prepared for that anymore. I am fighting a cold now due to the 40 degree difference in temperature and Saturday and the Lack of sleep that I have gotten.

I guess you only live once and make the best of it.

Vocabulary

It just amazes that in the last week how much of a vocabulary that Landon has gotten. Last night when I got home, Landon kept rubbing my elbow and saying something that I couldn't quite figure out. I thought he enjoyed rubbing my dry scaly skin on my elbows. To find out he was really saying Elbow. He is learning more body parts at daycare and Elbow was one of the things the were taught yesterday. It is so freaking cute. Now he sticks his elbow out in the air and says "Elbow, Mommy, Elbow". It is adorable. I love it. So, they are working on the eye brows, and eye lashes now. It will be interesting to see what he has to say tonight on the way home. I will be sure to figure it out sooner than I did with the elbow thing.

We are just loving the weather we have had the last couple of days. Landon is able to enjoy the parachute rs along with the annoying plane above our house in the evenings. His sandbox is a hit and so is the car that Chad and Melissa passed along to him. The fresh air is definitely helping him sleep better at night. I just wish now that his 2 year old molars would come in and then he shouldn't have the need to chew on everything.

We celebrated Amaya's 2nd birthday over the weekend. It is so hard to comprehend that it was 2 years ago already that Jen and I were pregnant. Where in the world does the time go? And what will we be saying when they start Kindergarten. Crazy!
